Boudoir Lingerie, Stocking & Outfits: What to wear for the shoot?

One of the most nervously asked phrases I hear just after a client has arranged to have a shoot with me is ‘…but what shall I wear?’ While some women I see have already got their outfit planned and perfected, most of the women I work with are in more or less the same boat: their drawers are filled with a lot of comfy knickers, bras that serve the boobs before the eyes and maybe one or two uncomfortable items of ‘sexy lingerie’.

It’s difficult, because while you know you want to look your best, you also want to feel as comfortable in your shoot-day lingerie as you do in your skin-tone t-shirt bra and old GAP knickers. It’s important to wear something that makes you feel your best, because if you’re feeling comfy and confident, I promise it’ll show in your photos. Occasionally I’ve witnessed women try their best in Victoria’s Secret push-up bras and hold-ups, only to feel that they just weren’t helping them feel authentically sexy.

Ultimately, whatever you choose to wear on the day is up to you, but don’t worry – help is always at hand. Before your shoot, you’ll have ample opportunity to go through themes, clothing and lingerie, with an option to have your hair and make-up done by my incredibly talented professional team.

On the day, we’ll go at your pace. Wear as much or a little as you feel comfortable with throughout the shoot. I’ve seen women who’ve been terrified to start shooting and nervous to take off a jumper go from frightened to fabulous in the space of a few hours. I promise that once you’ve warmed up, had a glass of prosecco and your favourite music is blaring, you’ll feel much more relaxed and at peace with yourself – no matter what you’re wearing.
