Curvy & Plus Size Boudoir Photography

Curves. Whether you see yours as a blessing or a curse will impact the way you carry yourself, the way you dress and most importantly, the way you see yourself.

As a guy, I can’t say I have much experience with dressing boobs or a big bum, but I know what it’s like to look in the mirror some days and just not quite feel it.

I’ve heard people say that the best way to rock a curvy body is with confidence – as though any woman can just whip on a body-con dress, snap her fingers and own what she’s got. Ha, if only it was that easy. Thing is, even though culture and the media says that it’s now okay to have a more voluptuous physique, it’s only okay if the curves are in the right places and proportions. Think Kim Kardashian, not Lena Dunham. Unfortunately very few ladies have the millions it costs to pay surgeons for the Frankenstein fat relocation procedures that the Kardashians can afford. So I guess all hope is lost.

Haha, okay, I’ll stop joking around. You know as well as I do that women can, should AND DO feel incredible in the natural, curvy bodies they were born to be in. As a body positive photographer, I see women of all shapes and sizes own their femininity and rock what they’ve got with pride, love and respect for their natural form. Trust me, it’s amazing to see.

When I started You at Yours, I didn’t just set out to take beautiful photos of women in lingerie, I wanted to capture the essence of what makes each woman incredible. It sounds strange when we’re talking about a half-naked photoshoot, but a lot of what I try to capture on film isn’t skin deep – it’s more than that. It’s celebrating the body, but also highlighting the person inside – capturing the real, most raw version of you.

Okay, so I will confess, confidence really is key when it comes to boudoir photography, but one sure fire way to build confidence is to be brave; throw yourself into the deep end of something that scares you. So, speaking of doing stuff that scares you, why not get in touch to book in that photoshoot, hmm?
